Central bank says pandemic expands Russia cash to record of 26%
MOSCOW, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- Russia’s 2020 cash in circulation rose by a record 26.4% in the last decade to 13.4 trillion rubles on January 1, 2021 because of the pandemic, the central bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
In 2019, cash increased by 2.9% to 10.6 trillion rubles as of January 1, 2020.
The previous cash in circulation surge was registered in 2010 and amounted to 25.1%.
